Day 01: Tangier – Chefchaouen
Upon your arrival to Tangier Port, we will be there for welcoming you and then taking you on a tour inside the city. In Tangier or as most Moroccans like to call it the “Bride of the North”, we will explore its most important places before traveling to Chefchaouen. In this blue city, we will explore the old Medina with its narrow alleys, white and blue washed walls, and shops which offer unique natural handicrafts. Following this, we will visit Rass El-Ma (the head of water) which is the main source of water in the city. As we move up to Rass El-Ma, you will certainly enjoy looking at an array of unique natural scenes which attracts thousands of visitors each year. In the afternoon, we will go to the hotel to spend the night.
Day 02: Chefchouen – Midelt
In the early morning, we will leave Chefchouen towards the cultural and spiritual capital of Morocco, Fes. In this city, we will explore its old medina which is one of oldest living Medinas in the world. Then, we will visit other beautiful places such as, the 9th century Karouine Mosque and University, Medersa Bou Inania, El-Attarine Zaouia and the mausoleum of the city founder “Moulay Idriss II”. Following this, we will drive towards Midelt vie a number of beautiful small Berber villages. Along the way, we will stop in Ifran or “the Switzerland of Morocco” to enjoy its magnificent gardens as well as taking memorial pictures near a sculpted lion which represents an important monument inside the city. As we leave Ifrane, our second stop will be the cedar forests of Azrou whose monkeys add a touch to the beauty of the place. After that, we will continue our way to Midelt where we will have dinner and spend the night.
Day 03: Midelt – Merzouga
After having breakfast, we will travel to Merzouga across the Atlas Mountains and the Valley of Ziz, where we will take frequent stops to sightsee some spectacular views of mountains, valleys and palm oases. We will also pass through a number of beautiful small villages such as Rich, a small Berber village marks the end of the high Atlas Mountains, Errachidia, the main city of the region, and Erfoud, which is famous for its date festival and fossils shops. By the evening, we will be at the doors of Merzouga where you will enjoy a spectacular sunset from the top of the dunes before checking into your hotel.
Day 04: Merzouga – Risanni – Merzouga
After having breakfast, we will pick you up in our 4 × 4 vehicles to explore the surrounding areas of Merzouga. First, we will stop at “the Sirji Lake” to enjoy its beauty and take pictures with some Flamingo Birds living in it. After this, we will visit some nomads in their tents to learn about their traditions and share some of their daily activities. In midday, we will be in Rissani where we will visit to the market of Sijilmassa, which is the biggest in the region, before having lunch in a local restaurant. For lunch, you will be served “Madfouna” which is a piece of bread stuffed with meat and many local spices. After lunch, we will head back to Merzouga where we will rest before riding camels to explore the desert and sightsee a marvelous sunset. After that, we will head to a bivouac (camp-fire) where you will spend an incredible night full of Berber drum music, dancing, singing and looking at a starry sky.
Day 05: Merzouga – Fes
Before sunrise, we will wake you up so as not to miss the chance to sightsee a breathtaking sunrise in the heart of the desert. After that, we will ride the camel to get back to the hotel. After having breakfast and taking a shower, we will head to the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco, Fez. Late in the evening, we will be at the doors of Fez where you will spend the night.
Day 06: Fes – Tangier
After having breakfast, we will pick you up to the port of Tangier and that according to your trip’s departure time.
