Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech → High Atlas → Ait Ben Haddou → Hidden 16th-Century Villages → Nomadic Camp in the Desert
(≈ 400 km | 8 hours with stops)
07:30 pickup from your riad/hotel. Cross the spectacular High Atlas via Tizi n’Tichka (2,260 m).
Visit UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou with local guide. Continue off the main road to explore forgotten 16th-century ksars and Berber villages in the Draa Valley region.
Late afternoon: arrive at a remote nomadic camp deep in the desert (not Merzouga yet). Meet a real nomadic family, enjoy mint tea made on the fire, help bake bread in the sand, watch sunset over black desert.
Dinner cooked over open fire (tajine, soup, fruit). Sleep in traditional wool nomadic tents under millions of stars. Magical silence.

Day 2: Nomadic Camp → Erg Chebbi Golden Dunes → Camel Caravan → Luxury Desert Camp
(≈ 180 km + camel trek)
Sunrise coffee with the nomads, then depart toward the famous Erg Chebbi dunes.
Stop in Rissani for the lively traditional market (if it’s market day: Sun/Tue/Thu). Visit a 300-year-old underground ksar and fossil workshop.
Arrive at the edge of the golden dunes around 15:30–16:00.
Leave luggage at the lodge and join your camel caravan (1.5–2 hours) deep into the highest dunes. Climb the biggest dune for an epic sunset.
Arrive at your private luxury desert camp. Welcome drinks, panoramic views, 3-course dinner, live Gnawa & Berber music around the campfire, stargazing.
Overnight in spacious private tent with real beds, electricity, hot shower & flush toilet.

Day 3: Desert Sunrise → Alnif → Agdez → Ouarzazate → High Atlas → Back to Marrakech

Optional early wake-up for sunrise over the dunes (unmissable). Breakfast at camp, then short camel or 4×4 return to the lodge to shower & collect luggage.
Depart around 08:00–08:30. Take a different scenic route via Alnif, Tazzarine and Agdez, passing dramatic volcanic landscapes and palm oases.
Quick photo stop at Draa Valley viewpoint. Lunch stop in Ouarzazate or along the way.
Final crossing of the High Atlas Mountains with last panoramic views.
Arrival back in Marrakech around 18:30–19:30. Drop-off at your riad/hotel.
