Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Marrakech → High Atlas → Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Gorges
(≈ 380 km | 7–8 hours with stops)
Pick-up from your riad/hotel or airport at 7:30–8:00 AM.
Drive across the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via Tizi n’Tichka pass with panoramic views and Berber villages. Multiple photo stops.
Visit the famous UNESCO Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou – guided walk inside the fortified village.
Lunch with view over the kasbah (optional), then continue through Ouarzazate, the Valley of Roses and Skoura palm oasis.
Late afternoon arrival in Dades Gorges. Check into a beautiful kasbah-style hotel with stunning canyon views. Dinner & overnight.

Day 2: Dades Gorges → Todra Gorges → Erfoud → Merzouga → Camel Trek & Luxury Desert Camp
(≈ 270 km + camel trek)
After breakfast, short drive to see the dramatic rock formations of Dades, then on to Todra Gorges – 300-meter-high red cliffs perfect for photos and a refreshing walk along the river.
Continue via Tinjdad and Erfoud (famous for fossils – quick stop if you like) toward the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.
Around 16:30–17:00 you’ll leave your luggage in the hotel at the dune line, meet your camel guide and start the 1–1.5 hour camel trek into the heart of the Sahara.
Arrive at camp just in time for the most spectacular sunset you’ll ever see.
Welcome mint tea, traditional Tagine dinner, live Berber music & drumming around the campfire, then sleep in your private luxury tent (real bed, sheets, en-suite bathroom with hot shower & toilet).

Day 3: Merzouga Desert Sunrise → Rissani → Ziz Valley → High Atlas → Return to Marrakech

Optional early wake-up for a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes (highly recommended!). Breakfast at camp, then return by camel or 4×4 to the hotel to freshen up and collect luggage.
Depart around 8:00 AM, driving through Rissani (traditional market town), along the beautiful Ziz Valley with a million palm trees, and stop for lunch in Midelt or similar.
Cross back over the High Atlas Mountains with final panoramic views.
Arrival in Marrakech around 6:30–7:30 PM. Drop-off at your riad/hotel or airport.
